PLANNING COMMITTEE

The By-Laws of the Crockett County Regional Planning Commission state “the term of Any member designated from the Crockett County Commission shall be coterminous with His or her term of office on the Commission. The term of all appointed members shall be Four (4) years except that the terms of three (3) members shall be one (1), two (2), and Three (3) years respectively.” In addition, the By-Laws dictate that officers shall be elected, by a majority vote of the membership present, at the March Planning Commission meeting taking office at the April Planning Commission meeting taking office at the April Planning Commission meeting.

Planning Commission (Board of Zoning Appeals) members serve at the discretion of the County Mayor. Members can be removed or replaced at any time during their term by the County Mayor without notification to the membership of the Planning Commission (Board of Zoning Appeals). Members of the Planning Commission (Board of Zoning Appeals) may request the County Mayor relieve them of their membership on the Planning Commission (Board of Zoning Appeals) at any time during their term. The members of the Planning Commission (Board of Zoning Appeals) may make Recommendations as to membership to the County Mayor as a courtesy.
